You really bought that?
- jox0
Yeah I did. You'd be surprised how bad FILTHY rich people wants to get rid of their toys when they're done playing.
- mg330
I knew what you meant by "birds," but can't stop thinking that it looks like birds would enjoy crapping on it.

it sucks that you don't live in the US.
OMG, I would totally try and get on Pimp My Ride with that, and let them restore it for you, and then some!
- jox0
I actually looked that up not too long ago - birds only crap on really shiny stuff because they think it's water!

I've actually been doign some pimp my ride on my own over the past 3 years, finished restoring a totaled Maserati GT this spring and sold it right after with a real sweet profit!

(Dec 30 05, 10:33)"all pimp my ride would do is slap a cheap ass paint job on it and dump 20g's in over the top electronics inside.

(Dec 30 05, 10:34)I've seen a bird take a shit on a baldy. Now I know why.
- versa0
now i'm really curious - how much would you have to put in the get thing cherry again, and then what could it resell for
got some sweet potential - don't know much about ferraris ...

jox, how'd you get into car restoration? i've always been so jealous of people with that skill...
something i've always wanted to learn how to do.

The 550 is a great driving car. It's smooth in handling the road compared to the 360. The 'touring' engineering makes it an enjoyable ride. The 360 is a fantastic car but it's built for racing so it repsonds the road differently i.e; it is a rougher ride. The 550 is a smooth cousin to the 360 and the 575M is quite frankly the best car I have ever driven. I love the 5 series from Ferrari much better then the 3 series or even the new 4 series. good luck with the Resto on that car you will enjoy it when it is done

I'm gonna do most of the work myself except fiddlign with the electronics and such. Haven't yet looked up how much the engine parts are gonna be, but I bet it's hefty. The shields alone (basically meaning the Ferrari stickers on the side) are like 1200 bucks each. If everything goes to plan I'll still make a sweet buck from it. It's in the shop now, and they're tearing it apart piece by piece deciding what to save and what to throw down the pooper. Hope it goes well!
Don't plan on using it myself, more of a Porsche guy actually.

Naw, it's not my garage. That was taken down at the docks a few weeks ago, those BMWs were impounded and had polish plates... and I think they were involved in drug activities or some shit.
I'll never give up Audis. Smooving around in my S4 V8 as a daily driver. ^_^

my goal is to restore an old beat up Porsche 365A some day, hopfully it turn out something like this...

(Dec 30 05, 10:41)I used to help my dad restore old Vespas and Lambrettas. I loved watching him dump old wrecks in the garage you never thought would turn out to anything, and then a little while later it looked absolutely fantastic and brand new. It's not that difficult really, just requires a lot of patience and motivation. There are Haynes books that explains every little screw, too so basically anybody can do it. Not to mention the internet!
