most kinkos you can bring in whatever - but be sure you test is as their shit might not be calibrated for different finishes (vellum, laid, etc).
since kinkos stuck the card readers in there, it is fucking expensive. if it screws up you have to get a refund, etc so its kind of a hassle.
offset is definitely going to cost you a lot in setup, but are you needing 5 or 500 and how much money do you want to drop

Go to Sir Speedy, they're a lot better and more knowledgeable.

kinkos will be $1.99 a side for color printing.
digi offset might be your best bet if you're not going offset quantities. no plate setup involved and much cheaper

Yep Kinko sucks.
I have only gone there twice coz they were the only ones to be able to have my things printed on time the next day. Both times was unhappy with the image quality.
One time I paid like 70 CAD for 2 booklets with like 32 pages and luckily for me it made into one issue of the CMYK magazine.I'll never go back there again.

I hate Kinko's, but if I have no other choice, I go there in the middle of the night and do it myself. You pay more, but you don't deal with assholes.
Here's an AMAZING Portfolio solution...
Upload full size JPEG's to a new albulm on Flickr, then go to www.qoop.com and MAKE A FULLY PRINTED AND BOUND BOOK, you can put one image on a page, move them around, put your name on the cover (or company name).I haven't done it for portfolio work, but we did it for all the grandparents for Xmas - books of the baby, 50 pages for about $20! Great prints, glosy or matte paper. It's hot.
