I'm sure someone is a pro on this here...
Built my current computer in Oct. 03.
It used the following motherboard:
http://www.fic.com.tw/product/mo…It also came with the following memory:
Ultra 256MB PC2100 DDR 266MHzSpecs for the m-board say it handles 3 DDR DIMM; Up to 3GB DDR333 SDRAM.
--So, in adding more memory (which I'm about to do and should have done sooner) do I stick with PC2100/266Mhz, or switch up to PC2700/333 Mhz as the motherboard says it handles?
If I leave the existing 256 MB of PC2100 in and add 512 or a GB of PC2700, is this going to cause problems with them not being the same?
Merci!

the best way is to have same speed on memory i think though it could work with different speeds but may be instable.. get two 512 same speed and it should work without problems.
so you been rolling with 256mb until now :) great ..dont spend too much u going to need a new computer soon

thanks. computer still runs pretty fast as it is. It's a 2.0 Ghz Celeron, I could upgrade it to a 2.5 P4 if I wanted to spend the money.
Just not in the market for a new one right now.

The strange thing is that much of what I've found about my motherboard says it handles PC2700.
So I'm kind of baffled about why it came with PC2100.
