People are constantly asking for samples of contracts and such, well Shell Perkins and Jim Faris of AIGA have revised their AIGA contract to make it more universal and almost modular. It is a free download here:

And you can read an interview with them about it here:

one thing i dont like about this contract is that it is sooo long. are there any other contracts thats like a few pages long? specifically for freelance long term work, not per project contracts.

Why? Do you have a better product? This is (IMHO) a really thorough contract that protects the best interest of both parties as well as the project. Plus, it's not all soooo long, it's modular, meaning you can use or lose portions as you choose.

The old AIGA contract got me in legal trouble once. I had to go after a client and my lawyer told me it didn't protect anything.
Maybe the revision is better, but its stupid to download a contract and sign right into it.
Hire a lawyer to do one for you. You'll be sorry the other way around.
AIGA has a building to pay for in Manhattan. They want to offer stuff to make them look worth the money they charge for dues.

AIGA offering a free contract is like
A lawfirm offering some free logos and brochure templates for download.
