I just saw the film and I have to say, it was pretty good.
As I said before, this is the type of film that would get a divide between people who loved it, and people who hated it, imo. The CGI turns people off, as well as the 30's-era acting and behaviour.
I absolutely loved the scenes between Kong and the T-Rex's, plus all the scenes with Naomi Watts (amazing actress, as per usual) and Kong. I actually did want to cry a few times during their scenes.
Some of it was overdone, like the long scenes, and the film was around 3h. Which is okay for some movies, but I felt like the island part was a completely different film.
So overall, I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10.
