A while ago I mentioned on here we had some boring exhibition banners to do, and that i wanted to somehow do something nice for them...
Heres an idea, they have to be generic and have Felt on them (the black rectangle), so that they can have stuff stuck to them depending on where they are situated.....
anyway, what you reckon, theyre2 metres tall by about five metres wide in five peices!

seems like there's a bit too much info on them. I like the feeling overall, the felt idea is good, just seems to be a bit too much..

its got to have the UCO logo, the address and contact details, plus the 'part of HUD UNI' bit....
do you mean the background graphics? or the actual textual info?
- Dancer0
No one is ever gonna read those contact details – far too small and by your knees!
- Dancer0
snuggles – your taking the piss right?
- DavidFelt0
yeah i see what your saying dancer, maybe i should move the contact details and make them larger...
The end peices both 'wrap around' so the ends are curved if you see what i mean!
- Dancer0
You may wanna think about putting a full colour logo or contact details on the edges as well.
Also think about what is gonna go in front of that banner i.e a table, people? The graphics need to be big and higher up so people can see it form all angles and from far back

that logo is full colour, there is another version where the white of the logo is blue, but its evil....
I see what your saying, its difficult though with the curved edges, that leaves me with only three full drops to work with, and the felt needs to be large and at a good height so that the things on it are easily seen, so then im struggling to put the contact details anywhere!!!! argh
plus, i want it all to look nice and be a peice i can be proud of, not just a shit job churned out for the money!

Hm, as a delegate, I don't think I'd appreciate having to bend over to read the contact details.
Other than that - there's a lot of importance placed on the type of blue you've used.. but is that an actual Oldham uni colour?
If I was looking for an 02 stand at a Teleconference, I'd seek out the dark blue stand. Would people in the know, er.. know to look for the Sea Blue Oldham uni stand?
Otherwise - it's plain enough to have impact and complex enough to allow the eye to drift.
Good luck!

Also, how relevant are those spot details? I can imagine people not getting them, instead thinking they might be some kind of error?
- DavidFelt0
their colours are dark blue and orange, so i used the dark blue sparingly in the gradient as its a pretty pish colour...
the marketing cheif wants something young and cool, which is why i used all the feint background detial kinda shit....

(Dec 20 05, 03:39)This is what you have to deal with my friend! Banners are never a portfolio filler, they have to work on a very basic level and that is to say who and what they are prmoring. Perhaps run a webaddress/telephone number up the edges.
You can't be minimal with this bad boy, function before form I'm afraid
- DavidFelt0
I hear ya, it aint going to be a portfolio peice, but work for a Uni is something we want to show off, as shit like that is hard to come by and may get us work from other large institutions like that! ill rejig and post again in a few mins!

I think it's odd. The black square. What is it going to have stuck to it.. also you said 5meters by 2 meters. would that not be more panaramic. That would give a much different perspective. leaving your little black squar looking very lost.
