So who has it, what do you think of it and what are your favorite channels and shows?

I finally got it installed Saturday. I got the tuner/ant package to go with the Sirius ready deck.
I am really impressed with the large variety of channels so far.
My main motivation was that I need to listen to Stern when he starts there but I think I prefer radio over television as a medium anyway.

I have had it for almost a year, and i love it.
of course, there is Stern, but i also listen to CNBC or other news channels. Plus, the music is good too. No commercials and lots of different channels.
I like Hard Attack, and Hair Nation, plus new country and Reggae Rythmns.TR1

I have had it for quite some time. Much MUCH better than XM. Less country music to start....
There is a channel called chill. I think its channel 22? Very good. Everything from Moby to Sigur Ros on there. The news stations are good. They cover most political outlooks, and even have a great variety of international.
The music channels are quite varied. Good stuff. Woth the $13 just to not hear commercials!
Good luck!

I haven't had much of a chance to explore it yet. I was inside most of the weekend. You can stream music stations online so I will probably get a replay tuner and 2 docking stations. One for work and home.
So far I have been listening to Reggae, Hip Hop (Shade 45 and Old School).
I really like old country but can't stand the new fake stuff so I really like that there are classic country, outlaw country and bluegrass station.
Left of Center, Blues and the Christian Rock stations may be interesting. To me anyway.
Also I love NPR so I am happy about the large amount of public radio stations also.

I wonder if they have an inhouse team that did all of their logos.?.

I like Chill, Howard 100, Reggae, NPR,
the local Traffic / weather channels rule for us commuters. 24/7 traffic

My wife will give me the gift of Stern this Christmas!

I will have to get the replay tuner for work because I always get pissed off if I have to stop listening to Stern to go to a boring meeting.

ch 26. left of center.
good stuff usually.
- rson0

i like sirius, and i've had it for a while...
the thing that gets me everytime is that it seems like the play the same sets of songs throughout their stations.
i can't stress enough how much i love variety and not to hear the same songs over and over again. i need new shit on a daily basis.
also my other critique is that they don't do well with requests. i've requested for them to play DAFT PUNK for the longest time and i never fuckin heard it and i listen to sirius most of the day.
howard will be the shit tho.

Seems like everyone agrees... I just got Sirius a month ago and I love it... I rarely listen to FM anymore. Hair Nation is fucking awesome, two NPR stations, CNBC, New Country, Lite Rock, Hits, a Bruce Springsteen station.... Totally worth the money invested.
As a note: I got the S50 receiver and it seems nice but I don't know if I would use half of the features it offers. I might recommend getting something less $$$.

Howard originally made me appreciate radio as a medium. Then later NPR, Democracy Now, etc.
Regular radio has failed on so many fronts. The local stations are limited. There is no variety in music other than what they wan't you to hear and what the general public will tolerate. On the modern rock station all the groups they play have the exact same sound. Do people really like that shit or do they just listen to it because that is what is being fed to them via some corporate music agenda? Radio commercials are generally very annoying.
Then they completely backed down to the FCC.

I don't even have cable. I was thinking the other day that the most important things that need to be addressed in our society are not going to be visually appealing eye candy with quick summaries and sound bites. Short and visually appealing enough to hold the average TV drones limited attention span. What is really important can only be addressed in lengthy, intelligent and honest discussion.

hey swollen elbow-
they play daft punk on Chill all the time. I've heard a song from the new record as well as homework
- swollenelbow0

Do you think some of the channels are not CD quality? Also, why have I heard commercials on some channels.
