dare I say it....I have never owned a mac....
dare I say it..... that I must buy one now to a) finally learn it b) test safari and all those browsers on it
mac-mini? there are several out there with specs....I am just thinking I should learn pshop on it and just how a mac works in general....
any idea if like the mac-mini specs will be alright for learning and testing purposes?

for the price and what you get, you wouuld be better off getting a G5 iMac.

Just use that intel copy of osx thats floating been around for ages to test safari, etc. It really works quite well and very fast on my 3ghz p4.

i made the mistake of buying an ibook in a sale once. G3 800 12" thingy
love it to bits but it's a bit slow for anything other than browsing and email

well I just need to learn it and get one anyway... it wouldnt hhurt....not to worried about speed....
but thinking that $500 for the mini and then a monitor, etc....
I dunno.....I think I might just save up for a good one...I love my laptop though....but...it may not be such a bad thing to get an ibook

i say craigslist or word of mouth. a lot of many good value buys (for both sides) can be had this way.
that is if you do not want to go the new-new route. the mini is a great option as well if you have extra hardware lying around...

i just brought an iBook 14", i max up the rams to 1.5gb, works very quick on final cut pro 4.5... i love it!
