I feel that these comment come out of spite. I am not in any way sticking up forthe actions of religious extremists, but come on. The west has been influencing them since they discovered oil there. All of these disgusting dictators and royal families treating their people like crap. Then these Imams get involved, and it becomes a holy crusade to gain a voice. Poverty breeds ignorance. In Saudi, the royals live in gold plated homes, while the rest of the people live in relative poverty. How many hijackers come from Saudi again? Meanwhile, there is the UAE next door. There everyone has a stake in the oil industry, and are all well educated. They have strong business relations with the west, and a very small amount of radicals. Simple.

guess who decided to remove it and replace with a shah?
who has invaded afghanistan and irak, both right next to iran?
who has transformed israel into some nuke state?
no wonder those guys in iran are wanting to upgrade their weapons and getting a bit paranoia and mad... any other state would do the same.
