is starting to corrode.
the area where you rest your palms, left to the touchpad.
there are tiny black spots which im afraid will turn bigger through time.
anyone have the same problem?

You gotta wash your hands AFTER you pee on them and BEFORE you touch your Powerbook.
On a more serious note, its the oil/moisture from your skin. Not really sure what you can do to fix it....maybe try some rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth or something like that.

when did this start?
are you unusually greasy?just curious cause i have a pb, and i'd be PISSED if that starting happening to mines.

mine began doing it after almost 3 years. very little, but on the area where the left hand palm is. just a few flakes doing it and it is an older TiBook. new ones are fine i believe.
and apple care does not cover this sort of thing. it is in the contract if you read it.

i think its the metallic paint. cause my mouse (the logitech optical) is all worn off where the metallic was

Buy one of these sleeves cut it in half or whatever size you need and stretch it a bit and cover where those stains are. This will render your mousepad unusable but you can always use a external USB. Goodluck with aaaall that.
