Well done, works well!
It would be nice if the info panels were draggable and there was a close button on the panel. Otherwise its an awesome job, nice one!

Its amazing how many sites like this get lost in the PBS

i also participated in the development of musicmap and would like to point out 2 more things about it.
first of all, the graph model differs from the one used on theyrule. actually the system resembles the one used by marcos weskamp on flick graph. the classic attraction-repulsion algorithm was used in flickr graph. in musicmap, a force-directed graph model was applied instead.
secondly, the only similarity between yugo nakamura's amaztype and musicmap is the fact that they both consume amazon web services.

I think that's what poomoo meant. What are you guys working on next?

why don't you integrate it so the user can actually link to amazon from each release? If you set up an account you can make a percentage of each sale which comes directly from your website. (its tiny I know) You could make a small profit if you're site becomes popular (Although I'm sure you've already thought about this option!)

thats exactly what i meant.

Yes, we thought about creating an account at amazon and link the albums, but musicmap is mainly a non profit oriented project, it actually was my senior project at IBU Visual Communication Design.

I think it would be a better resource if you could actually link to buy tho. I would use it all the time for sure. Much more fun than browsing Amazon! :0)
I find it a bit starnge that sometimes the tracklistings can't be viewed if it goes offscreen. Otherwise it's a brilliant project. Hats off.

Yeah, you are right, it has some bugs and should be improved a little more in terms of usability such as linking to the album on amazon.
