Anyone on a Mac and use an alternative to MS Office, like OpenOffice Or NeoOffice. I am looking for recommendations?
Thanks,

im on pc and i use it. works brilliantly, if you dont mind having no templates to work from and having to build everything from scratch.

on Apple and use it exclusively. love it.

which one do you use? Open Office?
Templates don't matter to me. I am just looking for something that will open excel docs and word docs.
Thanks again...

NeoOffice. ported for the Java runtime enviro. for OS X specifically.

i run neoOffice. The interface isn't as polished as most OS X apps, but the price is right and it opens and edits documents without any trouble.

I used Open Office when i ran linux...it was rock solid.
Stay away from Star Office from Sun Microsystems. it doesn't have near the same amount of features as Open Office.

I have never used the 90mb no install portable open office in my usb pen drive but i guess that it'll be pretty useful someday.

the interface is a default Java system build. if you read the project notes, they are deperately looking for volunteers to help out w/ a Quartz build.
but i agree, it does need work to be more mac-esqu.

NeoOffice is pretty hurting on the eyes, and it's pretty kludgy to use, but it's the best option you've got until OpenOffice.org is Mac-native. none of that X11 bidniz for me.
