but by using Georgia all caps bold you will be making it way too hard on the eyes/tastes of your user...
- kelpie0
ie. it will look gash at various point sizes unless you are running cleartype or browsing on safari. compromise surely allowed for SOME sites SOME of the time, no?
- kelpie0
sorry, I crossed a line. the shame *hangs head
;)

just use regular then. you're right bold is probably too intense.
i don't agree that if you are using CSS/xhtml you can compromise on text resizing. that's my opinion at least. and its the proper thing to do.
- kelpie0
I know where you're coming from, don't worry :)

If we're talking about resizing text, does the nav really need to be resized?
I could see content text doing so, but the size of the font in the nav is 11 if I remember.
- jakeyj0
yeah, i agree about it looking crap at certain sizes. people with a print background (like myself) have a tough time giving up control of the exact size of fonts. I've let that go a bit and just focus on getting the ratio between the fonts looking good.

(Dec 12 05, 08:54)if someone wants to resize the body text, chances are they'll want the nav bigger too. which is arguably the most important feature of the site and you want people to be able to see it how that want to see it.

ordinary people don't KNOW what they want. they are nothing, they are the shit on my shoe...
- jakeyj0
we're not talking ordinary people here, we're talking atlantic divide fans here! surely they're a bit smarter than the average?
- kelpie0
mmm, dunno about that...
- mg330
Haha.

I know. It doesn't display, but the page validates and it's linked to the css page.
Like I said, if you have FF and the web dev toolbar, you can edit css and view it.
I'm stumped.
- kelpie0
me too. sorry.
- mg330
Okay, it's working now. Why do I need full file path urls in my CSS?
http://www.theatlanticdivide.com…
That's the only way it's working. I've just recently done another site where they weren't needed.
- poomoo0
haha! i have never seen anything like that before.
- kelpie0
ha, that's odd - you'll be disgusted to hear it's still humped in my browser ;)

I have occassionaly had weird problems with relative paths however, dunno why tho...
