just finished designing a business card and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on where to go for printing.
would like to have them back by monday at the latest. thanks in advance guys.

thats pretty quick, you will have to pay more for it and it might be a better idea to go local so you get it back faster.
checkout 48hourprinting.com, and do the print extension so you do not have to do a proof. its gang run thou.

what would be a more realistic amount of time to expect prints back then?

The only way you get them that quick is going digital. or if you go to kinkos or some other quick print place, they will have those books with biz cards and letterhead that are printed with thermography. they will send them out and you usually get them back in 3-4 days

You may not know this but card stock has an important roll in making your cards stand out. Go to a local print house and go through the paper swatches. It's part of the process and you'll like your cards that much more.

4by6 does hot satin ones.

Yeah the 4x6 satin cards are a great, good quality, great price card, they feel so nice.

get hands on.

I'll third the 4by6 recommendation. I love their cards and get so many positive comments on my cards (of course much of the credit goes to the rockin' design! - j/k)

I just ordered a free sample kit from 4x6.
I also just sent a clients biz cards to 48hourprint.com so I'm just waiting to get that back. (p.s. - I actually worked at 48hourprint.com in Boston for like....well....hahaha 48 hours!!!!....I just realized that....I quit on my second day there because I hated it, although the people seemed nice, and I needed to get out of there and make a strong push to keep designing. What drove me nuts was sitting there (in pre-press) looking at shit design after shit design and thinking about how much work there really is out there for a talented designer who wants to work hard and go after it.
Anyway....
With these places like http://www.4x6.comhttp://www.48hourprint.com and http://www.jakprints.com you kinda have to swallow your "pride" a bit.....they can do good work but they do gang-run printing and have a VERY limited offering of paper and printing options. Its the only reason they can charge what they charge.

high quality fast turnaround low quantities i use them for assorted print jobs ie mailers, posters etc

oops, my bad on the http://www.4by6.com link. I'm retarded.

4by6 a little pricey for gangrun glossy.....except the satin is great....
overnight prints glossy is good...for quick stuff... and the matte is actually quite good...the only prob with overnight prints is that you send them files in RGB... the color matching is horrible.. I had them redo my cards 3 times.... they made gray ....purple.... dont ask....
but they are the cheapest and the fastest.....
if you wantt o choose stock....you wont be able to do that on the net....
this place http://www.psprint.com is pretty good...
I had a good client recently pay for really good stock....so I was able to really see what is out there.... the stock selection they had was incredible.. I am definitely never spending less then $100 on my card ever again...

I want to see the BEST DESIGNED cards out there...that's way more interesting
- version30
liquid ive never had the rgb request i always export high res tiffs in CMYK and have never had a problem using the upload feature
- ********0
Ya, if they are a "real" printer why the fuck would they ever ask for a file in RGB.....even morons at Kinko's know it has to be CMYK.

I agree with version3 on overnightprints.com but jakprints.com is pretty good too and has real good customer service.

i have used 4by6 tons and their results are always great. nice finishing for sure.
but................. their tool for OS X SUCKS ASS. it is one of the most aggrivating experinces i can think of. on PC- breeze. on OSX shooot me now...
