On a MAC or PC, I need to take a one second sound FX and stretch it to about 3 seconds to match this flash animations... how the heck can I do it? I can't figure it out for the life of me and it seems so simple.
thx.

time streteching, but I would rather loop it twice or three times if I were you. copy, paste, paste, paste. making sure each area meets for a looping effect.
Do it in Sony Sound Forge.

the othe guys was referring to taking a sound wav and stretching it so it meets your time requirement. It can be done in ReCycle! or Ableton Live! 5.

ok, I wasnt' sure if stretching was a flash actionscript thing or what, that's basically what I need to do, stretch it, not repeat it. I'll try those programs.
What about the duration actionscript? would that work?

what kind of sound fx??
if it's like an click or an explosion it would sound rather odd if you loop it, no??dont have a sound editing program installed, but on adobe primiere it's under clip > speed/duration.

yea it's like a swoosh sound from flashkit. I don't have Premiere here but that's what I want to do in Flash.

dunno if you can stretch sound in flash.
sound editing program is your best bet

you cannot stretch it with AS, it's going to sound like crap. You need to timestretch it if you want to achieve this. Think of it as bending sound much similar to bending a vector graphic, etc. I don't think you want to loop it if it's a swooooosh sound. You might be SOL.

Get sony soundforge demo, it's on their website. Download it, install it, and use the timestretch tool making the final time 3seconds long. Good settings: Drums (Less echo) and Vocals (less echo) whatever the sound is though, play around with the settings until it sounds the best. If nothing else, email the sound file to me ( helixdnb )at( hotmail )dot( com ) and I'll email it back at around 1:15 pm EST when I get back to my room.

he doesn't read, I already suggested that

Of course I read it, I was further elaborating and going into it (where he could get it, settings to use, etc) because I work with this stuff all the time.

ok ok boys, I got it, thank you all for your suggestions, I ended up using Audacity and it worked good enough for th eclient demo and if they like that they'll love the final.
thx again.
peace.
