Phones4U just rang me up and asked if I wanted to upgrade my phone with them...whats the difference between getting a new upgrade / contract through them and direct from my network - orange?
- rasko40
play them off each other and get a better deal/phone.
- JamesEStone0
you end stuck with them for another year...
I wouldn't go with them purely because
1) they tout on the street on Tottenham Court Road, and don't let you past.
2) Their adverts suck ass! whats all that about with the bloke in the mini cab going Yeah Yeah Yeah!... shite!

Phones4U = ex singlepoint =
Ex Cauldwell Group =FUCKING BASTARD CUNTS WHO I *WILL*, ONE DAY, DESTROY WITH FIRE.
*cough, thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
er.. Do you actually need a new phone? If not, think of the environment and try (as Rasko suggests) and haggle for a better monthly rate or call cost.

So go direct with orange you say...and maybe make up a deal that three or o2 are offering?
- JamesEStone0
and orange admit that they don't get the best phones... instead they spend all their money sponsoring star wars!?!?!?
- JamesEStone0
do 3 now do a phone that isn't about a foot long?

every time i upgrade they say no to the handset i want, i just tell them evry network calls to offer deals and i want to cancel. they go through their preprepared banter until at the very last minute the system sudernly changes and I can get the phone I want.
try it and play em

(Dec 7 05, 04:27)don't really need a new one...but I'm a consumer whore.

the mobile phone industry is ludicrously expensive in the UK, do the best you can at getting a deal on your terms.

(Dec 7 05, 04:30)I will, I getting fecked off with my current deal with orange it sucks. £30 a month for 200 mins any network.
What should I propose? I notice that orange are doing an existing customer half price line rental for 6 months or something.
relationships get better with time apparently.

You are the customer.
Everyone else does better deals so haggle.
Remember it'll be a new contract for 18 MONTHS not 12.
- codfather0
why 18 months?
- digilee0
that's how they get us in the UK.
You never noticed that?
On the 18 month contract, they never tell you that until near to signing, so keep your ears open. As soon as it's mentioned, refuse it.
