Renderd lights comped onto photos. Or just rendered full stop. In my humble opinion. Either way, nice.

that all looks like it was lit w/ florescent tubes. has that blue/grey cast to it a touch...
my money is on staged flash through florescent.

Having looked at the detailed rendering in some of his comercial work, I would say at least some of these have been created in a high end 3d app.

i also say half these are composits done in a sudio.
specifically the Hummer stuff.
