Those that care would be happy to know I finally got a new job in Denver at a back end development joint. They/We create custome software and pick up any and all development work. As such there is a severe lack of design in the comapny and I've been charged with the redesign of the logo and website.

My current problem is how do I present a website without it looking like a design shop's site? Does this even matter? Has the web become so stagnet that it will look like everything else by default?

Opinions on the subject would be appriciated. Links to what you think are companies that successfully represent the development side of things would be cool too.

    Who loves ya baby.

Put a monkey in the logo and make it green and red?

Kidding. That's what designers do, we solve design problems. You can make a software development logo and site look nice and give it a techie feel without it looking too techie.
I don't think the web has become stagnant at all. I also think it does matter how the site and logo present the company. It should present them as a step above who they are and in the apropriate industry that they live.

BTW - congrats on the job!
