Last year I got a nasty virus and the dell tech guy told me how to reformat my computer so it was exactly like it was when I bought it. I wrote down the process, but I cant find it now. Does anyone know how to do this?
I think it was something like hitting F3 while I rebooted or something like that(though I have tried that and that isn't it)
Thanks
Josh

reboot your computer with your OS CD in the machine, and follow the instructions to reinstall the operating system.

when he had me do it, it was a built in restore. It didnt require any discs or software, just some commands.
sound familiar to anyone?

Ensure you've got a full list of the drivers required for your system before you format though! Preferably actually have them on CD or usb dongle, ready to go!!

If you've got a Dell, the HD may have a seperate partition with all your source files, etc (OS, drivers).
So, you'd either press DELETE after boot up, to access your BIOS and alter the boot load sequence (along the lines of A:, D:, C: - change to something like A:, n:, C: (where n is your second partition), or, press F8 to choose MS-Dos bootm then do it from there.
It'll be the former though, I suspect.
