So my awesome Sharp 17" widescreen tv/flatpanel PC monitor broke a month ago, sent it in for an analysis to be fixed. Get the estimate back tonight: would cost $692 to fix what cost 750 to buy 2 years ago. No I didn't get the extra warranty from best buy (an extra $125), so it looks like I'm getting myself a new monitor. I run a PC, and well, am a graphics designer/gamer. Anyway, what I'm looking for is 17"+, preferably widescreen, flatpanel/lcd without spending a fortune. Any recomendations?
Thanks in advance.

yeah 17 is too smal. at least go for a 19" inch monitor for graphics. If it's for porn a 17" will do it.

they are soooooo cheap now, i got mine 2 years ago ( 15 inch ) for almost $600. nowadays u can get a 19 inch for less than that.
i dont know where u live, but here for example bestbuy is on sale this week and they are pretty cheap.
just look around, im sure u'll get a good deal. and get no less than 19 inch.

I'm asking, as 'your situation' has been discussed repeatedly - at least twice in the last 2 months and each time I've recommended the Dell 2005fpw.

i think the apple 20" cinema display is $799
it's worth EVERY penny. the displays are flawless... i have a 23" and 20" and it makes working so much easier

Eizo, if it meets your budget, has a new one out if you need it wide.
Great colors. Worth splashing out a little extra for:

$600 but really nice, and i actually use the rotation thing when typing anything in word.. you can see almost a page and a half on the screen at 100% zoom with the monitor on its side

P.S. Dell and Apple use the same Monitors for their LCD monitors. Just diff backlighting. Dell is brighter. Apple is Softer. Both are awesome. Dell is cheaper for the same thing and it includes a built in Switch and PIP, 4 USB ports.. etc.

Same - THANK YOU sir...and people wonder why you make new broadcasts :D
I was looking at the Dell 20", which was gonna be roughly 490 or so (512 with tax?) but this is so much better: widescreen, same 20", and rediculously cheaper. You sir, rock. And re: the 17" lol, I'm on a temporary compaq 15" right now that's dark as hell :|
I'll be getting this today/tomorrow so that It's at my house by when I get back from school for the semester.
