is it true that hotmail will strip out all css in html emails? is there anyway around this?
- rasko40
yes, the way around is not to use css.
- poomoo0
yes it strips out external css but if u embedd your css it will work fine.
- heavyt0
inline css is fine, i think that they strip the body tag and everythign above, so dont add it into the head.

best plan is not to use css at all, I design emails in dreaweaver 4, very useful, it has html styles. You set them up like you'd do with css but when you apply the styles it puts in all the relevant font tags etc.
:D

craic, can you do that with dreamweaver mx 04?
are you saying you just make it like normal and then it converts it? i do not get it, dreamweaver styles everything with css.

anyone using a hotmail account = anyone who thinks AOL is the internet.

(Dec 5 05, 08:52)Sorry mate the html style thing hasn't been in there for a few years now, I suppose they thought it was pointless because of css.
You just build as usual, select the text you want to style and it wraps it up in font tags with the colour typface etc, old sytle, before the wonders of css and the separation of sytle and content, repurposing all that groovy stuff.

(Dec 5 05, 09:17)eh - when you have loads of hotmail accounts in your maillist u cant really have that attitude.
- ldww0
killputer, i TOTALLY do not agree with your statement.
i just did a quick look in our db, and over 20% of subscribers are at hotmail.
i do not know about you, but not mailing to 20% of our members does not sound like a hot idea to me.

it does strip css
- craic_whore0
AOl right royaly frigs it up too, best plan is to use old html mark up. Honest.
- JazX0
absolutely, I was going to mention that. AOL E-mail clients destroy E-marketing Campaigns.
Ughhhhh grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
- ldww0
eeep, little under 20% are aol too
- nooner0
so AOL is not the world wide web?
