BUMP, this is mega urgent peeps,. all dialogue boxes come up with no text in whatsoever, so i cant see what im clicking on etc.... do i need to install windoze?

If all your dialogue boxes are displaying the system font then it means your system's fucked - a memory leak somewhere from dodgy/conflicting software, most likely.
Reboot, start again. Try in safe mode.

I seem {vaguely} to recall this happened on an old 66mhz system after I overloaded it with fonts, high-res wallpapers and stupid software packages. Dialogue boxes and system components gradually degraded during the session 'til the UI was completely broken up with oversized Terminal fonts.
If you can't see you're dialogues, Alt-Tab to critical software, and use kboard shortcuts to save, quit then reboot.

weve rebooted it a few times to no avail! looks like its buggered, how do you reboot in safe mode again (winxp)? and what would i do once its started in safe mode?

you have to press F8 at a specific time during bootup (slightly before/after initial WinXP logo appears, usually). This will just check that your core setup is working properly (without being lumbered with excessive drivers etc). After this I would try and get a feel for the processes running and see how many you can get rid of and see what impact that has . Have you recently installed new soft/hard-ware? See how the system reacts when these aren't accessed.

Actually, before you reset - do CtrlAlDelete to see your Task Manager - check the system performance - how's your memory total/scratch? Are any processes hogging CPU time (except System Idle Process!) or Memory?
badically - I#m not a techie, and when shit like this happens, I just check *everything* and try and degrad the system 'til it works.

Arial must have been deleted if your Flash app will not read one of your PC system fonts.
Reinstall Arial.ttf or whatever
