From last night –
Rory’s friend plays drums in a band and they have a showcase in front of label reps.
They introduce there new tambourine player and it's freaking Joel from the Brian Jonestown Massacre. Then they go on to replicate the infamous Brian Jonestown showcase. The lead singer starts acting like Anton and pushing people around on stage and telling people off. It ends in a big brawl on the stage (exactly like the Brian Jonestown Massacre story). It was really strange...

I hate that show. And BJM is a great band.
It's like the OC and their promotion of bands like The Killers.
Except that's a bad example, since I now dislike The Killers for continually badmouthing The Stills, who are really awesome.

Forget the show... It was just really surreal to see the BJM story told through the filter of the Gilmore Girls perfect world (minus all the drugs).
This isn't the same as hip bands being on the OC... this isn't their target audience, there wasn't even any mention of them or their music... just their story and their tambourine player.
