i just watched the film this weekend and it was awesome.
what a really twisted ending.
and i would hate to see an american version, even if it starred gary oldman. hollywood totally lacks originality and needs to check itself

agreed on the re-makes - nothing against American film or anything, more that if something's good in the first place, where is the need to do another version.
Old Boy though, I loved it (truly loved it) right up till the end, then I was very dissapointed by the ending - too over-wrought for my liking, I ended up saying to myself "was that it?! all that for FUCK ALL - what a pussy" not the effect I was expecting. :( contrived and convoluted unfortunately, similarly to Sympathy...

goes both ways. films from outside the US have their own goodness about them. vice versa. I do like what the UK Film Council is putting out these days.
