Does any one use airport express to contect to the internet wirelessly. Is it any good? Will the range be enough for a whole house?

works for me.
i have a smaller house though.
it's good from my office, down the hall, through the living room and onto the back deck.

i love mine...if i had the money though i would buy a base station and just use the express for music and extending the network...on its own it's not as reliable as the base station...my connection drops from time to time (moreso my isp's fault but the express shits out sometimes too)

I love my Airport Express, but as mentioned it may not cover as wide a range as you like.

I have an airport extreme base station and want to extend the range to the far end of the house--can I use my old unused airport base station to do that, or do I need an airport express?

the old base station still works but make sure you get the one with the latest standard.
dont pick up a one thats old. this sucka at apple store try to sell me one thats older wifi standards.

I know the setup of the airports is ridiculously easy, but if you're looking for range, then perhaps you should look at some of the MIMO routers that are available at the moment.
I've installed a few different wireless routers for friends, and I've found that the Netgear RangeMax routers probably have the biggest range out of any that I've tried, without going for an external antenna. Linksys SRX routers aren't too bad either, I'm told.

if you dont care about playing music via your itunes via express, just get any other brand.
cheaper, works better, easy to set up BUT its not pretty

Has anyone updgraded to an Airport Extreme for the old Airport Base station? Will I notice any speed difference?
