F^K...it strips my tag no matter what.
put this in a div tag:
style="width: 500px; height: 250px; overflow: auto;"
Change height and width as wanted style scroll bars for IE.

thanks for your time 4est but i was after a 'news-type' scroller... one which scrolls the text vertically automatically like a news ticker/scroller!

it looks fantastic but not up on flash - will have a go though - if there any simpler versions please share.
