tell her to be careful with the gypsies, tell her to keep a very sharp eye on her belongings, tell her that most italian men take "NO" as "YES"
tell her to go to the club Mecanos! tell her the drink card she gets in Mecanos she will have to pay at the end of her night in that club!
tell her to eat at Harry's Bar right off the Arno near Ponte Vecchio.
tell her to visit the single Jewish Synagoge in all of Italy in Firenze.
tell her to ask specificly for a Bottle of Tuscany's own Lambrousco, its a very tatsy red wine only found in northern italy. (there is a side view portrait of an older womans face on the bottle)
tell her to drink as much cappuchinos in Firenze as it will be the most slamming drink she can find.
teel her to eat gelato daily so she can get fat and curvy!!!
tell her to watch where she is crossing the streets as the vespas will hit her!
tell her to hug the walls in those tight alleys in Firenze when cars are comming!!!
tell her to say hello to the girl that took away my virginity, she lives in Firenze!!!!!

my friend just went on his regualr yearly trip to Firenze and he was in the train station, and some guy asked him the time and pulled his attention away from his bags for less than 10 seconds, he said he didnt even move his feet, and all his stuff was taken, and this is daytime!
tell her to watchout!!!!
italian thieves are no joke!!
Firenze is very safe!, you can walk anywhere at anytime!
it is also a very very smal city, and after 1 week, you would have met everyone in the city!
its fun like that, when you shop the city during the day and then see all the vendors partying at night.
oh yeh i fergot! Firenze has a siessta where everything completely shuts down for 3 hours everyday. so if she is hungry, tell her to always carry some food with her. tell her to buy her water in the supermarket and not on the street. as street prices are very high.
tell her to buy a glaass of wine on the strteet and walk away with the glass and ttell to return the glass later on in the day.
tell her to have fun and be safe!

also when dealing with stolen personal property, tell her to carry travellers checks on her person, and all cash as well on her and not in something that can be grabbed and taken.
also tell her to colour copy her passport and all identifacation and give it to you or someone she trusts, because if sshe loses or her passport gets stolen she would have to goto the Embassay which is only found in Roma.
and that if she has her copies she can have an easier time in getting back to her fun.
just to be safe.
tell her that at night, to walk across the Arno to the other side of Firenze and find Santo Spirto Bar, its basicly a church with steps and a bar outside, the loccals hang out there and she can find a ton of tourists i she wants and find pot to smoke or hash.
also the hostels have people that sell hash and pot. but be careful when asking for it!

She going to the College of Fashion in London for the next couple of months, and the trip to Florence was a last minute thing for pleasure.
Obviously it should have been planned a bit better, I think she will have a good time. She is meeting some other folks there, so she is only alone for the Rome to Florence train ride.

I am going in Decemebr for a month. I will be meeting up with this same friend in London, then doing the Eurailpass thing. Should be fun. I will be traveling with Brooke as well.
I will get in touch with you and get some pointers in the next week or so, as we make solid plans.

my memory gets shotty after the italy trip in Europe as the other countries were fileld with smoking weed very heavily and chewing on microdots almost daily!
