international contracting question

    I'm doing some contract work for a guy that owns a business in Australia, I'm American. He was talking about having to report an Australian Business Number for tax purposes and some other stuff I've never heard of. This is the first time I've ever done formal contracting work let alone internationally. Any one have any experience with this and what I have to do in the US to be legit?
