logo as font

I have a logo which I am looking to hand over to a client but knowing how stupid they are I want it to be rendered clean and crisp even in Word documents. I once worked on a few jobs with General Electric and their logo was generated through key combos with a typeface they supplied. Wondered if this is a viable option.

yep, it's a viable option. I have had problems with putting logos into word templates for clients in the past. Making the logo part of a typeface (eg helvetica, or whatever their corporate font is) is a good solution.
You can literally paste the paths from illustrator into fontographer or other type design software. Just put it into a key position that they won't ever need eg a double dagger.

i have done this before too. its a nice idiot proof way to let them use the font.
