Black PNG problem

I've got some png pictures in a powerpoint slide... it turns out to have black backgrounds even though I have transparent areas...
Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

you can change the image background color too (fill color), maybe that's set to black?

no no... it's an inherent Powerpoint problem... it happens on some PCs only... doesn't happen on mine, but very unfortunately happens on my client's PCs.
I need to solve it the easy way (installing some stuff for my client to overcome it) or I'd have to manually remove the colour profile as prescribed here:

oooh... using the picture toolbar transparency tool seems to work...
i've gotten my workaround but hope for a proper method...
anyone got other methods?
