and am still baffled by how many of my friends, peers, and coworkers dont vote...
They piss and moan about the things they dont like about our system, yet they do nothing to change it (ie: vote). Why? Its not difficult, it doesnt take that long, it can be educational, it can make a difference, etc etc...
How I see it:
Voting buys your the right to bitch. Period. If you wont try to help the situation - you dont get to complain.

I just voted when I came home from work. The polling station was on the same block as my apt. and it took less than 10 minutes. I felt like I bought myself the right to bitch too...funny that you mentioned that.

Thanks to all that voted. What pissed me off is that there was a polling place TWO BLOCKS from our house, but we had to drive about two miles away.
There HAS to be a better way.

You know what, I thought I had to do that too. But I said fuck it and walked to the one in my neighborhood and voted using a provisional ballot. I'm sure you could have done that.
