I found some really great contributors through this site, so I figure I'd post again since I could use a bunch more.
I'm attempting to launch a start-up magazine. We're still months away from launching but things are moving along. We're in the middle of a total redesign.
The mag is aimed at 22-35 year old travelers. It will include everything from clubs and bars to festivals and extreme activities and much more.
We're in need of writers, photographers, designers, etc. Anyone willing to contribute will be allowed to contribute a photo/bio for our contributors page, but unfortunately no money is offered at the moment.
Take a look at our site (www.away-magazine.com) and e-mail () if you're interested or have any questions!
Thanks!

i have something for you if you have the paypay
- Mimio0
Here's an idea:
National "Dive Bar" database.
- CincodeMayo0
No paypay. Just exposureexposure.
I'll check out that dive bar db.
Thanks.

Sounds like a cool idea. I've always thought it would be cool to have a travel show that was targeted at people that age. More of a "you can afford this" approach instead of "you'd have to be a rich prick to visit this obscure resort on Fiji." What's that called, oh yah, Conde Naste Traveler.
- CincodeMayo0
You got it man. It's all coming along nicely. But I want actual people that age to submit cool photos, stories, reviews, etc.
That way it'll really seem like it's aimed at people that age instead of being written by pretentious "pros" who think they know it all.

I can submit some snowboarding and/or freeride biking shots from Whistler BC, Canada if you're interested.
- CincodeMayo0
YES! DEFINITELY! I want to do a big piece on the best places to snowboard, that type of thing.
I'm at work right now, but at home I found some kinda of snowboard festival in Montreal (I can't think of the name) but I would definitely like to see some of your stuff.
If you or anyone else here would like to write something on snowboarding, shoot me an e-mail.
Thanks!

How about a section like the one you have:
Take This - A review of various travel accessories. But called:
Take That!: A review of things to be avoided.
- CincodeMayo0
I like your thinking...
So what should be avoided? Do you mean places to aviod?
- mg330
thinking a bit more...a section like that could be a "letters to the editor thing."
Because truly most magazines are a repository for things you should do/buy/visit/etc and not many include sections about things to avoid in the world:
For example:
I try and tell everyone who is visiting Chicago not to spend $11 to go to the Hancock Building's Observatory, and instead, go for free to the building's 96th floor Signature Room Bar, where admission is free. It's the coolest drink you'll have, full views of the city, and just awesome being that high up.
- CincodeMayo0
That's awesome...exactly what I'm looking for.
I'm actually trying to have some kind of notes section within each city article feature that has a local insider tip.
For example, in Miami, you can go to Joe's Stone Crab restaurant and wait 3 hours like everyone else, OR you can walk a half a block down and visit Joe's Take Out, and get anything off the menu to go in less than 15 minutes.
- CincodeMayo0
Hey MG...do you write at all? Any interest in doing a piece on Chicago?
- mg330
Yah, might be cool. I do write, primarily a quarterly inner-office newsletter where I work, as well as contributions and editing of a quarterly newsletter we mail to clients.
I'd be glad to help out. I like what you said about the restaraunts, I have a few situations like that myself.
- CincodeMayo0
I've actually been wanting to do a piece on Chicago, so that'd be perfect.
Shoot me an e-mail so we can figure things out.
Do you take photos too?
- CincodeMayo0
Anyone have an funny/crazy travel stories that they would consider publishing?
For example: Sleeping with prostitutes in Amsterdam, getting held up in Colombia, getting caught with weed in Phuket, that sorta thing?
Let me know if you have one and would like it published.

if you're accepting Bullsh*t. I'm your man

________________________I got arrested in Mexico, with 4 of my friends. It wasn't cool at all, but a good story and one of those 'things to avoid' topics.
- CincodeMayo0
YES! I wanna hear about it. Shoot me an e-mail if you're cool with me possibly running it.
I had the same experience in Mexcio...me and 3 friends got pulled over by the Federales for "running" a stop sign. I still don't believe it was actually there. But somehow they let us off. Lucky I guess. Thought we were going to have to empty our bank accounts.

So anyone else have an crazy traveling stories?
Being arrested in another county? Lost at sea? Meeting up with the Swedish Bikini Team?
Anything?
