i can't believe we've already had a victim of an avalanche...it's so early in the season!
between that and that freakish snowstorm from a few weeks ago, it may be a very interesting winter.

I used to ride Berthoud Pass then thumb it back up all the time. We couldn't afford to buy lift tickets and/or helmets back then and surely couldn't afford beacons. We were young and dumb. I'm glad none of use got hurt.
Did they ever rebuild the lifts @ Berthoud? Someone told me the reason it had been abandoned was because there was an inbounds avalanche death years and years ago.

he rides mammoth and summit/bear during the winters. he's been know to paddle out every once in a while as well.
