new album sucks ass.. they're riding some BSS coat tails imho.
- Jaline0
I think the new album is just as good as the last one, if not better. And they're a part of BSS anyway.
- ********0
j*sus, they are a good band, but all you guys do is post about them hahhaha
breath now
- horton0
yes i realize 2 of them are BSS 'members'.. hence riding the coat tails, because they wouldn't be as successful as they are had teh BSS connection not been there.
i don't often agree with Pitchfork's wanker reviews, but they got this one about right:

Okay, but I still think that Metric would've been popular with or without BSS influence. I'm saying this because most of the people that I know, who are also interested in Metric, either heard of BSS after hearing of Metric first, or haven't heard of BSS at all.

I saw them last Sunday and it was a blast.

Live it out, their last Album, is one of my fav record in 2005.
Dont believe the critics. Tastes are personal.

I don't agree with Pitchfork's comment that the lyrics are really bad. I love the lyrics this time around, almost as much as on the last album. The things that Metric says about society is just so smart, and hasn't been said in the conventional way as everyone else.

what did you guys think of the opening act "the most serene republic"
?
- welded0
I didn't care for them. It was the sort of dull art rock that I just don't get. Like The Doves. As an aside, in Vancouver they were the second band, the first being The Lovely Feathers. I enjoyed them, not so much for the music but the show they put on.

I want to see Emily Haines' solo work. Apparently it's just her and her piano in a church. With an audience, of course.
