hi,
im working on my internship report and want to get the best out of it.when im working on the report and have two spreads done i have the feeling like its nog good enough and start to make a new document.
i have this all the time and i have to finish it in two weeks.
what do you guys do when you are working on a report/mag etc, continue making other designs or stick to the first
one you were working on and just try to get it better and better?

if you feel like its not good enough, then try making two more, each having its own different style of course. now you have other styles to compare it to. then pick one that works best and keep tweaking it. have nt users critic it too.

leave it for at least 2 days, don't even think about it, then come back to it almost from zero, plan out what you want the report to say, and how you want it to look, think of it as a whole rather than just individual pages, and then look at what you've currently done and see how it measures up to your plan, then you'll know what to change. Going back to the start helps sometimes.

It's totally normal. I still do it actually. But don't do it forever. Eventually you'll have to find an idea that works. Make a comp, work on it for a little while then leave it. Come back the next day or two days later with a fresh outlook and try something different. Rinse and repeat. Once you have a few comps that you like, see which one WORKS best and work with it. Be careful not to push your deadline though. Always start a job with a clear mind and with plenty of time to spare because you'll need it.

yeah if you've got 2 weeks, do some, leave, return. it'll work.
dont get too deep in it or you'll lose perspective.
usually the initial layout i start with ends up the favourite, and gets worked and reworked till it's done.
dont stop and think it's finished, it never is.

make notes on why you don't think it's good, sometimes it's helpful to think outloud to yourself rather than relying on visual judgement. When you list things in word form that you don't like or want to query it, it becomes clear
