(Nov 3 05, 14:07)yeah they are not famous for building good websites, but you should know that the founder, Gert Dumbar, an older man, is responsible for many iconic corporate designs here in the Netherlands.
This is one of the most respected agencies in the Netherlands with a place in Dutch Design history.
More offline then offline that is though.
Hence the site, which is a bit on the poor site and they show only a small selection of their work, unfortunatly.

yeah for sure. the telecom work is really nice i think.
isnt it strange how some older companies/directors (still) dont seem to put a lot of effort into a site, if only to showcase their past achievements.

(Nov 3 05, 14:47)they simply dont seem to grasp the importance of online representation as we, the people from the internet generation do.
i am closed to being hired by a company whose online presence is rather poor as well and i have seen much much more impressive work in their office then they put on their website, most of which is rather mediocre compared to what they could have put online.
If they hire me i will start a small revolution and change that!

nice posts, ladies and gents. Some good late night material to peruse.

yeah totally. i used to freelance with an older designer a few years ago. his work was brilliant. clean, clear traditional design (he'd come from the old film/screen days) but he had no website, was totally against it.
i could appreciate it, and it was an amusing joke in the office, but the potential for his work to really be recognised was shrouded by his ignorance.
a bit like that pentagram site i spose.

ha, i hear that a lot. many seniors in both photography, graphic and other design disciplines that i know or spoke to have the same attitude.
Often this is also related to fear, fear of having their work exposed to an anonymous global audience and even more fear of their work being stolen by competitors.
Many people of the older generation see danger and discomfort in the internet rather then new possibilities, like it being the cheapest way of selling your skills and work and to receive recognition by ways of feedback.

that's the one i think mate. but i guess we'll be the same in 15 years about the next medium, we'll just want to saty on the internet and working away in print!
interesting. like your work too. nice and fresh.

I don't know why people always say that Design Chapel is the best portfolio. I think the very best has to have an amazing layout and amazing works. everything has to be amazing. It depends on the person, but most people can agree when someone doesn't have amazing stuff.
