Anyone experienced this problem with your Ipod. I switch it on, select a track, play it... then when I want skip the track, pause it, jump back to the menu, etc etc etc , it wont... all it does when I press any of the keys, is jump between the song timeline, artwork, and info. What can I do? Has apple fucked me up the ass?

I've gone through about 7 iPods now. Problems ranged from shitty battery life, broken FireWire ports, corrupted hard drives, or just completely dead. When they work, iPods are nice, but I don't trust them half as far as I can throw them. I work in an Apple Store but I'm not getting paid to tell you to buy an iPod. There's no other mp3 player i'd rather have though.

i bought an original 1st gen 5gb ipod as soon as it came out
i have had it for about 4 years now
the only problem i had was the battery and after i had that replaced it worked fine and still works fine. i love it! i thought about upgrading but seriously... why?i love it so much that i bought another 1st gen 5gb ipod off of ebay for my wifer
i've had that one for two years and haven't had one problem with that one at allwith my ipod the center button toggles between volume and scrolling through a song when the song is playing and holdiing down the left or right arrows will get it to scroll through the song as well
all your buttons cause the scrolling through a song?
if so thats just weird and i would try a reset and see if it still happens and if it does then i would return it and try to get a new one.

I just got the new 30g video iPod in black today. I'm trying to copy my music on to it and it's taking forever. Like 3 minutes per song. Is that normal?

Thats USB2 for you..
Still don't understand why they dumped Firewire
- JennyMarie0
That's what it is? that's crazy. it makes sense, my old iPod copies much faster and it's firewire

Jenny that aint right, My Ipod will download an album from Itunes in about 2 mins and thats through and old usb connection. When I'm using USB2 at work it takes about 5/10 seconds for an album to upload onto it. Take that thing back the shop its fooked.
- on another note, I've had this thing for under a year, the Ipod photo 40gb, this was released about this time last year.. Think I might have to reformat its hardrive.. should fix it. I mean lets face it.. all an Ipod really is, is a hardrive with a few buttons and an input socket.
