Hello, Just putting the finishing touches to my website and i was wondering whther any PC owning folks could check it works. Mainly that it centres and doesn't fall apart. (I can never seem to get css to centre on p.c's)

Good work - I like your style.
Personally, i'd comment on my work and 'contextualise' the purpose of each piece.
Also, I'd like a bit more colour on an illustrator's site - and instead of having handwritten comments pointing to the button functionality, might you just replace dynamic bits/buttons with just the handwritedness?
Whatever, I think it serves its purpose well. Good luck!

I'm an idiot (no news there).
You have ..um.. done all that contextualisationism - I was just looking at the Credit Card page.

hi Nairn
Thanks glad you like the stuff.
"I'd like a bit more colour on an illustrator's site "
I have to say that i am going to diasgre with you on that (in a nice way.) The reason it is grey is so the work stands out and doesn't fight the images. I want to show the work not the website, if that makes sense.
As to the handwritten, i think that would be cool but i want to make sure art directors commisioners know where they are and what to do, i hate leaving it to chance. I reckon make it as easy a possible for the people looking at the work.
Thanks for the tips though much appreciated

(Oct 28 05, 07:17)Ha ha, ace. I am actually trying to think up some self promtional images. Come up with a good one. (that's not too weird and i can put in my portfolio and i'll do it. :D
Also Thanks for the spelling 'heads up' Nairn

Cool - the reason I initially wondered at the colouring was because the shadow on the brim of your ozzy's hat looked a little dark - but that's just in contrast to the bg grey. I can see that it would look correct on a light background.
Anyway you have it - your work says everything it needs to do sell you anyway! :)
Can I ask - what's your process? Do you start everything on paper and trace and finish in Illy, or are you comfortable working straight to digital?

not sure what you mean about self promotional, i think your work does plenty of that already

Yep no worries.
Generally start in sketch book (ideas mianly rough sketchs) then scan in and build up n photoshop, using traced illustrator shapes.
Weird i know but i feel most comfortable working in PS rarther than building in illustrator. Then add textures and finally ligthing. Shadows reflections, highligths etc.

works on FF for me... lovely work!

I just mean images which are not commisioned. like the basketball man or superbugs. They are just ideas i have come up with and then made into images. Helps keep you hand in between commisions.
