yep.. .but you can set up a pop account to...
I use mine with a blackberry... so any mail i get gets sent to it straight away rather than the 15 minute you have to wait if you haven't got your blackberry running through an enterprise server

thunderbird or outlook 2003

well set it up with outlook 2003 or Thunderbird those are pretty much your only good choices unless you use mac you can use Mail and soon Windows Mail for Vista...Thunderbird is great

sure, i guess then i dont need gmail, just ouylook / thunderbird? would gmail benefit me having already got my own domain email address?

you might want to look at using IMAP instead of POP too (synchronized server-based mail account, rather than the dumber POP protocol)
- meversusthem0
what i would do is...have your address redirect to gmail account that way you can access the email using gmail but aswell set up a pop account with thunderbird or outlook. that way you can use outlook also check your email via gmail....

sorry for being dumb...why? Just so I can access email on the move>?

why not just setup all your accounts including gmail in your mail client? (no redirects). All the good clients support multiple accounts.
And if you use IMAP you can try out multiple clients simultaneously, as they all will be in synch (i.e. you could use Outlook, Outlook Express, Mail, Thunderbird, webmail clients etc all at once... thats the advantage of using IMAP email accounts instead of POP).
