question -- ive linked .eps files (illustrator10) in indesign CS2 and white boxes are showing round the images -- when i resave teh .eps in illustrator CS2, they work -- do i have to resave all my .eps files in CS2? that'd be a pain for all jobs have been made in previous versions -- hope this made sense somehow -- thnx

Try boosting the res of the thumbnail. This happens even though INDD recognizes the path in the .eps. It should print fine. Try to pdf it. It should knock the white out. Also, if this does not work, go under the object menu, and go to Clipping path. You should be able to activate the path in this pane as well. Hope this helps.

when this happens to me (which is a lot) i just take the .eps and open it in photoshop and save as a tif file with preseve transparency check. then place that in indesign and it comes up without the white box.
