Can anyone tell me why I can't double click on a .psd file to open it? It will open PS up but then I have to goto >File>Open to actually open it.
I'm on Mac OSX using CS1
Anyone?

B'cause your version is a naughty copy thats why.

It's not naughty at all...It's very well behaved apart from this problem.
I've tried ditching the preferences file but still no good.

Silentseven I thhink you're right. But I am going to have to look on other macs on the network to see if they have this 'missing' Scripting Additions and copy it across as I don't have a previous system.
Fingers crossed.

the same probelm I was having is what you are describing and it fixed it on my home machines and my work machines.
You dont need to reinstall just download that file and put it in the library and resatart everything works fine for me now.
good luck

Fixed....thanks Silent
Even my tech company who we pay for support didn't know how to fix it. I'm calling them back now very smug!

This problem arises when you copy the app from one machine to another. I had a powerbook and then carbon copied over the HD to another machine. From then on I had the same problem. After dragging the file needed everything works fine.
