mouse and tablet

anyone know if its possible to use a tablet and a mouse at the same time. i.e two cursors?

No 2 cursors, but you can have them hooked in at the same time.
Move your mouse & pen at the same time and the cursor struggles. Goes nowhere.

thats a shame, prehaps there are alternative input devices i could use. i am trying to have a second input device for a flash application i am building.

i think this is the closest you will get
but it have another 2-3 years and a gazillon bucks in development money before it out

I know that mook built a flash app that multiple people can access and thus have multiple cursors, but not one person having multiple.
Sounds more like an OS question to me.

hmm.. not sounding to greaty, all i really want is a secondary interface, hmm maybe i could use the webcam functionality in flash 8

If you just want a secondary interface, what about creating custome mouse pointers, and when you roll onto your secondary section, change the cursor, and leave the other cursor in the previous area, like a dragged movie clip?
Not a great fix, but it might help.

Well, You could do 2 cursors, both following the original mouse cursor, but have them on different layers - and then on some action, switch the layers to make the other one active? would that work?

yeah it would work, but i am really talking about hardware here rather than the software side.
