So I found a place I am interested in, its in a great area and the living space itself is decent. Price is good also.
Only issue I'm concered with is it has a shared entrance. Its on the 2nd floor, you come in thru the front door and up narrow stairs. The owners live on the main floor and also have their bedroom across from the main entrance to the flat on the 2nd floor. Also another family member lives on the 3rd floor.
I have never had to use a shared entrance before. Does anyone have experience with this?
Any advice welcome!!Thanks!

So all tenants come in through one main door, but each person has a private entrance to their particular unit?
If so, sounds like nearly 1 million apartments here in Chicago.
There's nothing weird about it at all.

Yeah, you'll want to make some Ho Chi Min slippers to stealthfully walk through the first floor to the stairs.
You'll need:
some string + large serated knife + used care tires.

Well basically I would be in the family's house so The rest of the house is their living space. They just took a section of the house and converted it to a self contained apt.
Seems common enough.. I agree on being stealthy upon entry..

that'd be kinda weird. Does the family have young kids? If so i'd be a bit hesitant. Nothing worse that Bob the Builder blaring on the TV at 6am on a Sunday morning

if you are a loud person, Id pass on that spot. the whole fam could gang up on you.

...or gang rape you.

that would be a reason TO take the apt.
