I'm not really a fan of 50 Cent, but you can't hate on him for making that money. I enjoy seeing people who come from nothing climb that ladder and make ridiculous amounts of money. Of course, for every ghetto-child turned millionaire, there's a label and distributor parent doing that tenfold. Don't blame 50... blame corporate America.

Ahhh yes gotta love old mush mouth...a.k.a fity cent. Not only does he have the movie, but also a novel and his very own brand of vitamin water. Well I can't say much for his (lack-of-talent) music but he sure knows how to exploit his fame and make lots of money.

I use 'hater' and 'hate-on' in as many contexts as possible.
You can't hate on 50 cent for a movie, but you can hate on him for making shitty hiphop albums imo.

I was just responding to how people are putting 50 Cent down as a person. So my point about how much money he's makin was irrelevant also.
Don't get me wrong, I bag on a lot of celebs too, but nobody here even knows him as a person, nor have they travelled that path to where he is now. I'd like to see someone here on NT "throw together" an album and hit the Billboard charts at #1 overnight. Not gonna happen. Like I said, I don't really dig his music too much either. The reason we are seeing his life story come out on the big screen is because of the mad marketing going on by corporate america here; the media. It's not like 50 is spoon feeding his character individually to every consumer out there. It's just that he (and the powers that be) have got the formula down. They know what it takes to go plat.
I know it makes no sense to even be saying this on here to the usual group of anti-rap NT flamers; I think maybe I get tired of hearing all the negative things about rap culture when in fact a large percentage of the whole music industry sucks. Yeah, this thread did go so far as to mention Ashlee Simpson which made me laugh, but I'm just sayin...
