Usually when companies/inventors initally submit patents they make very wide claims. By final issue of the patent many or most of the initial claims are usually thrown out.

if Apple would just reduct the cost of it's computers by close to half, they would take over the world. You know they would. It would put their products in the hands of all the people who want it but won't pay that price. It would erase notions of vanity in owning Macs, and it would be a serious, bloodthirsty competitor to PCs.
