uhh, next logical question: is it worth investing in a PMS tint book? how much does that cost and where would i buy it?
i've printed a few things before in CMYK and i'm able to see a color proof before it runs. is this not the case with PMS colors?

horton, lou where do you guys learn the finer details of print? At work of school? I would guess you had a lot of trial and error in your early days.

4by6 is awesome! i printed my own business cards with them and they turned out great.
unfortunately, i need to use PMS colors for this design and they don't support that.
anyone recommend any other online printing companies that can provide my client with a color proof too?

I printed some simple cards at a quickprint place just to have some until I get some that I really like done. Anyway, there are small black smudges on half of the cards.

like i said, you should have the printer provide you with a draw down of the ink on the stock.

you really cant get a pms color proof of your business card, because essentially it would be a one off

so what's the difference between a draw down and an actual printed card?
- LouSeffer0
the draw down is just a slab of the ink on the paper. basically you are double checking the color.
