Another flash quickie??

hi its boring old me again.
but i assure you this is a quickie.
how do i write a gotoAndPlay so that it jumps from one scene to another? it says i do gotoAndPlay(scene,frame), but it doesnt seem to work....

Yeah, you have to use labels if I remember correctly, otherwise it's completely unreliable. Try naming your labels something like "Scene1_MyLabel" to keep it readable.
And btw scenes are great if you have a really long animation, just dont rely on them for navigation/state but you probably already knew that.

scenes suck. don't use them. it'll cause probs for u especially when trying to transition from one scene to the next using some kind of graphical transition.
But..if u r set on them, use frame labels. All Scenes are actually the root timeline, just so ya know.
ie. gotoAndPlay("frameLabel1");

there is nothing wrong with scenes if you're working on a big project..
especailly when you're taking in a lot of data and then want to ignore it and concentrate on the core of your site
tryscene1_btn.onRelease = function(){
gotoAndPlay("scene1", 1);
};or something similar
