Easy question for most AE users
how do i let after effects use more of my RAM for rendering etc its only using around 20% at the mo!!!

Do 'shorts' idea. Edit?Pref>Mem and Cache. Think AFX only lets u use 2GB Max of Ram evn tho u may have 4GB. Hopefully a 64-bit version of AFX will come out soon.
Also, when u are in that pref settings, make sure to 'Enable Disk Cache'. That takes those already rendered frames from yo RAM cache to your hard disc when RAM is full.
There's also a bunch of techniques to save ur RAM when working too. Edit>Purge>Image cache. And Edit?Purge>Undo. Both of those free up RAM from image caches and undo changes.

Also kill your comp window before rendering...that will speed it up to.

oh yeah...and hide unused panels too. AFX has to update thjose all the time too. It'lll save u a bit of RAM. bitches!
