I came to the understanding last night that a tree is just a the result of a seeds genetic programming decaying as energy is applied to it. To me it says a lot about how no matter how complex our world seems to be getting, its only decaying.

and sometimes when a tree dies it leaves behind pretty resin called Amber

Jesus. And all this because you were smoking shagpile carpet strands rolled in underlay?

what I mean is... no matter how beautiful something seems to be getting, its really just coming apart. a tree cant get any more perfect than when it is a seed.

what paraselene said.
Yeah, even if things temporarily seem to refine, the universe is ultimately running out of energy and things decay.

Um, isn't "perfect" a value judgement in that statement? I don't think the genetic cod eof the tree is trying to achieve some weird idea of perfection that some human being zoniked on pot might have about it...
- discipler0
right. it's hard to say something is "perfect" in the absence of a standard of perfection in nature.

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

(Oct 13 05, 06:27)You're right TheTick. Nothing is perfect. My point was that its genetic code unfolds and decays to become the tree. Its genetic code can never be more complete than when it is a seed.

"Its genetic code can never be more complete than when it is a seed. "
---that's dumb, stoner mcstoneypants. your genetic code as a seed is no different than as a tree.
