http://www.matthewmahon.com/ when you go on this site,, click a picture, then click outside the picture, once, twice and it sends the zoom command. Anyone know how that's done? I have the zooming sorted, but that stage click is killing me (I'm pretty sure it ain't buttons).
A tutorial would be ace, but if someone has an idea how to do this I'd appreciate the help.
Giant invisible movieclip? Something else?

use onMouseDown and check if it's on a photo or not?

2 main loops [loading / zooming]
#1. after grabing site's content [xml probably] begin loading each image sequentially [proceed to next one when done]
#zoom [2 loops]
#1 align/rotate the picture to Stage's center
#2 scale entire stage while movien proportionally _x/_y to give the [fake] effect of zoom
#3 activate content loading

Its called 're-using someone else's code'. Download a copy of AS viewer somewhere and study up.
Same effect can be found a million places ie.
www.bbdo.comThink u can also find the code on actionscript.com

You learn the code by copying it and trying it out yourself. I'm with davi-t.

To each his own I guess, me: I'll never learn that way. Certainly wasn't scolding or anything.
